The basic method of teaching is the playway method. The formal teaching
becomes
very monotonous and makes the students repel from the school. Concepts of environmental
studies, community helpers, flowers, fruits, vegetables, animals, seasons, a birthday
party
etc. are taught through experiential teaching.
PREPARATORY STAGE (CLASSES III TO V)
The primary school programme builds upon the natural curiosity and
inquiry that
children exhibit at this age. It is fuelled by sensorial/experiential exploration in
languages, math, and science---through nature, art, music, and dance. Children
consolidate and
connect with what they learn. They enquire and explore, ponder, and question, observe,
and
demonstrate their learning in multiple ways. The classrooms and bulletin boards in
school
reflect the energy and rigor among the students. They are an explosion of ideas,
creativity,
and knowledge. Each class sets its own rules for expected behaviour and limits, guided
by a
broader school discipline policy.
MIDDLE STAGE (CLASSES VI TO VIII)
At this level the horizon of the imagination widens and concepts are
presented
in an abstract manner. Teaching, therefore, is undertaken through various projects and
workshops and students are trained to apply the class room knowledge in their own lives
and
the society at large. To assess and evaluate a child's progress, examinations, projects,
tests
and assignments are held intermittently.
SECONDARY STAGE (CLASSES IX TO XII)
The Secondary & Hr.Secondary School Programme consolidates knowledge of
previous years and strengthens students' understanding of individual disciplines to help
them
choose their career path. The NCERT curriculum prescribed by GSHSEB - focus on in-depth
experiential learning through projects, experiments, assignments, discussions and
presentations.
