The basic method of teaching is the playway method. The formal teaching
becomes
very monotonous and makes the students repel from the school. Concepts of environmental
studies, community helpers, flowers, fruits, vegetables, animals, seasons, a birthday
party
etc. are taught through experiential teaching.
PREPARATORY STAGE (CLASSES III TO V)
The primary school programme builds upon the natural curiosity and
inquiry that
children exhibit at this age. It is fuelled by sensorial/experiential exploration in
languages, math, and science---through nature, art, music, and dance. Children
consolidate and
connect with what they learn. They enquire and explore, ponder, and question, observe,
and
demonstrate their learning in multiple ways. The classrooms and bulletin boards in
school
reflect the energy and rigor among the students. They are an explosion of ideas,
creativity,
and knowledge. Each class sets its own rules for expected behaviour and limits, guided
by a
broader school discipline policy.
MIDDLE STAGE (CLASSES VI TO VIII)
At this level the horizon of the imagination widens and concepts are
presented
in an abstract manner. Teaching, therefore, is undertaken through various projects and
workshops and students are trained to apply the class room knowledge in their own lives
and
the society at large. To assess and evaluate a child's progress, examinations, projects,
tests
and assignments are held intermittently.
SECONDARY STAGE (CLASSES IX TO XII)
The Secondary & Hr.Secondary School Programme consolidates knowledge of
previous years and strengthens students' understanding of individual disciplines to help
them
choose their career path. The NCERT curriculum prescribed by GSHSEB - focus on in-depth
experiential learning through projects, experiments, assignments, discussions and
presentations.
PRIMARY SECTION
KEY STAGE - CLASSES I & II - AGE GROUP 6 YEARS TO 8 YEARS
LOWER PRIMARY - CLASSES III TO V-- AGE GROUP 8YEARS TO 11 YEARS
UPPER PRIMARY - CLASSES VI TO VIII-- AGE GROUP 11 YEARS TO 14 YEARS
Primary education or elementary education is typically the first
stage of formal education. Here classes are child oriented with emphasis on environment and
social awareness. The schools follow the G.C.E.R.T. Syllabus in the Primary Section. By
adopting a student centric approach, we motivate students to develop higher order thinking
skills. In classroom technologies – computers, audio visual tools, web based tools enhance
technological skills in a child. An IT enabled resource centre provides support to keep pace
with the dynamic nature of learning and pedagogy in education.
Each student posses a unique combination of multiple intelligence. Focused on the
foundational learning of students and to give a high emphasis on experiential learning
curriculum based on NEP 2020 which highlights 6C’s, & driven by 5 V’s is implemented.
At this stage the basic skills in Reading, Writing and Arithmetic (3 R's) are developed.
Projects and experience-oriented learning is given thrust and pupils learn at their own
pace.
The basic concepts are taught in a more structured manner, with more emphasis on oral and
written skills. Evaluation is continuous and comprehensive for Classes I & II, where as
formal examinations are conducted for students of Classes III to VIII.
Students are helped to increase their concentration span through daily meditation, yoga,
physical exercise and various such activities.
In order to inculcate healthy competitive spirit in the students, competitions in various
public speaking activities and sports are held regularly throughout the year.
